The characters
Integrity was the brainchild of Dean Fourie who wanted to create a company that was inherently transparent in their dealings. “There is a misconception that more is better. A naïve client can find themselves with a lot of gear and overworked operators from agents who don’t have the experience or enthusiasm to formulate the best solution for an event. There was a niche in the market for guys like us – guys who would take ownership of projects and be accountable to our clients. Integrity means a hassle-free gig,” says Dean.
The company was formed when Dean came up with an extraordinarily innovative and cost effective solution for one of the winwingroup events. The group was so impressed they backed the company with guaranteed contracts for upcoming promotions. “The winwingroup’s Nokia Roadshow was a clincher,” explains Dave Germond, Creative Director of the winwin group. “Dean and his team designed the rig – a truck that travelled to all corners of the country, fully equipped with AV equipment, sound that literally rocked a nation, plus computers with mobile internet connection and everything that goes with a full service unit. What the Integrity guys achieved was unbelievable.”
Integrity now has the extensive resource backing of the winwingroup which includes a full range of strategic marketing, communication and learning processes. These are all focussed on growing human capital and businesses through active involvement. “The delight of the winwin story is that by serving you in the most innovative, nimble and enterprising way, we have grown together,” says Dave.
Once upon a time
Integrity has a competitive advantage in having successfully moved with the times. Their offering is multi-cultural and relevant. “Because everyone is working toward the best creative solution, we’ve never been lumped with flashy gear that is not only unnecessary but expensive; or endured a cultural disaster like a hip hop DJ playing to a mature executive team,” says Dave. “The emphasis is on providing the most effective solution.”
Who dunnit?
Integrity helps clients plan and co-ordinate their event, promotion or roadshow every step of the way. And every step is fully transparent, as the name Integrity implies. When you call the company, you speak directly to Dean. And if he isn’t there, you’re find he has his cellphone at his side 24/7, “083 326 6504, day or night” says Dean. Dean has been in the game for 12 years and boasts some big international concerts on his résumé as well as SA Beauty Pageants He is backed by Fredericka as well as a qualified team of technicians who have long bought into Integrity’s Peace of Mind philosophy.
“Our clients are not paying for huge overheads when they choose Integrity,” says Dean. “We’re small enough to make sure every gig matters but we do own our own equipment. Most of it is under-3 years old – it’s state-of-the-art gear. It’s important to us to use our own equipment; that way we know it works to the highest standard.” The team is bursting with innovation. Integrity is in the extra’s they put in that comes from years of on-the-scenes experience.
What happened then?
Integrity starts a project with a critical needs analysis and technical budget assessment. With that comes an array of ideas and suggestions as to creating the best possible gig. Integrity can advise clients on everything from venue suitability for guests to nuances of performers and screen in front of him for presentations!). They’ll make recommendations from the full sensory spectrum. There’s a chapter to be written on sight advisory alone; from the lights, décor and special effects; to laser light shows, staging and branding effects… ideas that’ll blow you over without blowing the budget. Then there’s the sound; the music, DJ’s, audio quality of speeches, sound effects, performers – each require individual attention. “It’s the detail that makes the difference,” says Fredericka, “Not ever, in the history of Integrity, has anyone arrived on stage to a faulty microphone.”
Using a state-of-the-art CAD programme, Integrity will recreate a floor plan of the venue and design the room to minute detail. Site lines are pinpointed and everything is placed to spec so there are no surprises or hitches. For example camera crews use the plans to get the best shots. They’re also invaluable when qualifying safety requirements and obtaining security clearance certificates.
The moral of the story
Integrity and the winwin way are energetic, enthusiastic and passionate and you’ll be excused for feeling excited when you walk out of a meeting with Dean Fourie. Everyone wants a memorable event – that’s a given. Integrity is about something more. Pioneer a better solution together with them, exceed your objectives and tell your story like it’s never been told before. And in the process, have serious fun!
